Galleri Opdahl was first established in 1987 by Arve Opdahl in Stavanger, Norway. After enjoying initial success operating above the Culture House in Stavanger, the gallery relocated to bigger premises on the east side of the city in 2005. This 300 square metre space serves as Galleri Opdahl’s current location in Norway, and has enabled the gallery to present large-scale sculptural works and installations as well as extended series’ of photography, drawings, and paintings from a selection of Norwegian and international contemporary artists. In 2007 Galerie Opdahl was opened in Berlin, Germany, at a unique location between the neighbourhoods of Mitte and Kreuzberg. This second branch exists as part of the newly renovated building on Lindenstrasse, that features several other international galleries.
